Role / Responsibilities:

UX Research, UI / UX Design, Wireframing, Prototyping

Challenge:

Like most of the existing Config Hub, the site manager was extremely confusing and complicated. However, this tool was so difficult for clients to figure out that our internal Project Managers normally handled the site management for their clients, rather than attempting to teach users how the tool works.

We learned that our client-facing Project Managers were the primary user of this tool, so that made it pretty easy to collect additional information about what the issues were, and what users are expecting to accomplish. I began by mapping out all of the tasks a user can and should be able to accomplish with this tool with information from internal users. Next, I conducted multiple focus groups and observations to document, in detail, every pain point I could uncover. I tested multiple versions of wireframes for the new tool with our Project Managers, which gave us enough data to bring in developers to begin working on the backend for this project.

Development of a functional prototype and testing with clients was underway when I left Bazaarvoice in the summer of 2015. Unfortunately, I was not able to see this project through to completion due to my departure.
